If you’ve seen any of my recent videos on my Facebook page or Instagram, then you know we’re remodeling our bathroom. I’m thankful the main part of the work is done. New tub and tile, and, of course, new paint on the walls. It’s almost finished, so now we’re adding in the details…like a new towel rack. Not the most exciting detail typically, but it can add interest, color, and maybe a little fun to a space.
To the right, you’ll see the pictures of the process. For this particular project, I used some of my Uppercase Living vinyl expressions. It’s simple and gives that pop of color to something that’s often mundane and utilitarian. However, for this particular application, I changed the layout of the original expression. You can see in the first picture this is a two part expression that is designed for a large space. Since the towel rack isn’t huge, and I don’t want it to be the focal point in the bathroom, I cut out the smaller pieces of the design and arranged them to fit on the board. Painters tape is a simple tool to arrange the pieces before actually applying them to the board. I put them how I wanted them, applied the vinyl to the board, and away we went. Easy peasy! I’m very pleased with how it turned out.
Next up? Wainscoting! (I’m so thankful for my handy and ever patient husband!) That’s why I only painted the top half of the wall. No sense in wasting paint on a part of the wall that will be covered up, right?
Sometimes a little tweak is all you need to create the decor detail you desire. Maybe you can’t get past what is sitting in front of you and you need some help to personalize your space. That’s what I’m here for! Call me. Let’s make your walls talk.
Make it a beautiful day, friends.
